The numerous costs of an adoption process will greatly impact a family that is trying to bring a child into their home. These costs can deter many families from taking the next step in the process. But we may be able to help.
According to the National Adoption Center, the “cost of adopting a healthy infant of any race through a private agency or attorney in the United States range from several hundred dollars to $30,000 or more. Inter-country adoptions are costly, as well. Families pay between $10,000 and $20,000 in fees, which may not include travel and living expenses while in the foreign country.”
We are so glad that you have considered us to assist you on your adoption journey. The Board of Trustees is honored to review all applicants, but due to limited funding, we will only be able to assist a limited number of families. Our goal for grant giving is that we assist and support families that are adequately prepared to provide a child with a loving home.
If you are interested in applying, please first review the following preliminary guidelines to see if you meet the qualifications for a grant from The Eric Koby Adoption Fund.
- Your home study must be complete and current.
- You must be in process using an agency that is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization licensed to place children for adoption.
- We will not accept applications from families adopted from non-Hague Convention countries.
You must have the following pieces of information available for our Board of Trustees to review when ready:
- Your home study
- Family or referral photos (optional)
- IRS tax information (W2 and 1040 or 1099 forms) for the last two years
- Net worth of property, investments, goods, and liquid assets
- Annual budget information for both income and expenses
- Address, phone, name, and email of your adoption agency and caseworker
